Gov. Jerry Brown just received cut and dry evidence of what we've known the whole time: fracking poses serious risks to our water and food supplies. Donate now to support local fracktivists telling him to end this extreme practice in California.

It's been hard to get Gov. Jerry Brown to understand that fracking puts our climate, water, food and health at risk. Even the historic drought happening now in his home state has not convinced him to place a moratorium on fracking, which has already contaminated more than 24,000,000,000 gallons of water. Earlier this year we took part in the largest anti-fracking march in California's history1 -- and still he still didn't act.
But there may be one person that Gov. Brown may actually listen to: himself. A bombshell report conducted by the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) exposing the dangers of fracking to our water, wildlife and health has just been released.2 And Gov. Brown has already declared that this report should be the final word on fracking. He referred to it as, "The most comprehensive analysis of fracking to date."3
That's why we're joining our friends at Courage Campaign, Food and Water Watch and 350.org to plan the "Clean Not Extreme" day of action on August 1. Together, we'll use our collective voice to implore Gov. Brown to act immediately to ban fracking. If we can raise $10,000 in the next few days, we can empower our organizing team to turbo-charge this campaign.
- We'll identify more grassroots leaders in more cities and towns across the state, making the Clean Not Extreme day of action even bigger statewide.
- We'll run more trainings for these grassroots activists, so their actions on August 1 are even more effective.
- We'll expand our media push into more media markets, making sure that the Clean Not Extreme day of action is well covered across the state and Governor Brown receives our message loud and clear.

The wind, which we should be using to power our homes and offices, is definitely at our backs. Even California's largest newspaper, The Los Angeles Times, is calling on Gov. Brown to issue a fracking moratorium based on the recent report by the CCST.4 The writing is on the wall and Californians want to put an end to fracking -- a recent poll revealed that over 75 percent want protection from fracking.5
The time for action is right now. The Clean, Not Extreme day of action next month is our best chance and the only way we can pull off a successful event, is with your help. The venerable Mahatma Gandhi once said, "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." Gov.
