Breaking:  Michael Bennet (D-CO) is the latest senator to indicate he's willing to make a deal to pass Lisa Murkowski's "No Fossil Fuel Left Behind" bill to lift the ban on exporting crude oil. Click here to tell Bennet and your Senators: Don't Take Part In A Crude Capitulation.

Friend,

For Lisa Murkowski, Christmas may be coming earlier than she imagined. Last week Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid indicated that he's willing to make a deal to pass her bill lifting the 40 year ban on crude oil exports. Since Reid's announcement, senators are falling in line left and right. This week Keystone XL Pipeline Pusher, Senator Michael Bennet, signaled that he is also willing to lift the ban.1 And get this, he believes exporting crude oil can be, "part of a more comprehensive plan that includes steps to address climate change and give the country and world a more sustainable future" -- talk about a climate oily oxymoron.

That's the same climate confusion that caused Bennet to vote for approving Keystone XL -- and he's not alone in his thinking. Senators in Maine, Montana, New Hampshire and New Mexico are all considering a "yea" vote on this climate killing bill. Allies and opponents alike have launched a massive ad blitz in these states2 and over 40,000 of you have already written in. But Big Oil is buying off senators faster than we can reach them. If we don't take action soon, our chance of stopping this bill may very well slip away.

Senators return to work next week, we need to send them a message this Labor Day weekend, that we need stop this bill before it crosses the finish line. Click here to make sure they get the message.

The majority of U.S. citizens, regardless of party affiliation, don't support this bill, which would flood our country and the climate with more petroleum poison. In fact, a recent survey revealed that nearly 70 percent of Americans oppose lifting the ban including 75 percent of Democrats, 69 percent of Independents and 61 percent of Republicans.3 So it begs the question, why aren't our elected officials listening to us? I'm no psychic, but I'd be willing to bet that it probably has something to do with $823 million Big Oil has spent in the last five years on politicians and politics.4

Contrary to Michael Bennet's outrageous statements that digging up more oil can be good for climate change, studies have determined that this plan is a climate killer and it will also increase gas prices by as much as 14.5 cents a gallon. The increased price at the pump will add up to $10 Billion annually, and cause us to ship even more jobs overseas.5 The only other things this bill would lift are Big Oil profits and global warming pollution.

We need an all hands on deck effort right now if we are going to prevent this bill from unleashing atmospheric and economic havoc. And we need to let our Senators know that there will be consequences if they vote against the will of the people. Click here to make sure Bennet and every Senator gets that message -- before they return to D.C. next week.

Thanks for standing up for our climate,
