There's no denying the fact that climate change is humanity's greatest global challenge. If we continue on our current course of extracting and burning fossil fuels, the consequences to our planet range from rising temperatures, to surging seas to more extinctions and even an increase in refugees and loss of human life.
Later this month more than 80 world leader will converge on Paris for the global COP21 Climate Summit; the aim is to create a binding global agreement to address climate disruption. A global coalition of climate justice activists will meet them in the streets. Lead by frontline communities, indigenous leaders and other global citizens, we'll be there to show that this our fight and we demand results.
The road to Paris is already being paved by local communities around the world, and most definitely right here in New York City. Naomi Klein's game changing book "This Changes Everything" discusses the important role local action plays in resisting climate change. And now that her book has been adapted into a movie, we are holding a special screening of it with our friends at Patagonia, Sane Energy Project and Sierra Club.
