Attorneys General Eric Schneiderman (NY) and Kamala Harris (CA) have both launched investigations into Exxon's climate cover-up. But if we're going to get justice, we're going to need every Attorney General to prosecute Exxon and their Big Oil cohorts. Click here to tell YOUR Attorney General to hold Exxon and others accountable for their climate cover-up conspiracy.

Friend,

It's understandable that Big Oil companies like Exxon and Shell want to discover, extract and burn all the fossil fuels, that's how they make money and satisfy their investors in order to collect billions of dollars every year. But leading scientists have told us that we must leave 80 percent of them in the ground to avert the worst effects of climate catastrophe.1 What's not understandable, or at least not forgivable, is that after knowing about the dangers of climate change for nearly 40 years, they funded a climate denying scheme designed to mislead the public and influence lawmakers to not act on climate.

Turns out lying to the public, investors and Congress wasn't legal,  either. That's what Exxon and Big Oil did though, and thanks to the amazing to the amazing reporting of Inside Climate News and the LA Times, we caught them red handed -- holding the lighter that's burning and killing our climate.2 There's a description for lying to the public, withholding information from investors and misleading lawmakers -- it's called fraud and it's illegal. That's why AGs Schneiderman (NY) and Harris (CA) have both opened up investigations into Exxon's climate cover-up scheme.3

It's great that the top cops from our two largest states have decided to hold Exxon and other Big Oil corporations accountable, but it's not enough. If we're going to get justice, we need as many AGs as possible, nationwide, piling it on Exxon. That's why we're teaming up with friends like 350 dot org, Oil Change International and others to demand every AG prosecute Exxon. Click here to tell your AG to open an investigation and deliver justice to the people and the planet.

Next week every AG across the country will be in D.C. for an annual meeting, and we'll be meeting them with our demands. But we have to act fast if we're going to get the justice we want and our planet deserves. This may be our last chance to get justice from every state's top cop while they're all in the same place at the same time.

State AG investigations like these are what led to Big Tobacco admitting they lied to the public for years about health impacts from smoking. That admission led to huge fines and the industry losing political clout. We can achieve the same outcome for Big Oil, but only if we ratchet up the pressure and push Attorneys General nationwide to act fast.

Add your name to the growing chorus of voices who are calling on the Department of Justice and every AG to do what's right for the people, for our climate and for our planet. Click here to tell your AG to investigate Exxon and other Big Oil corporations involved in the climate cover-up conspiracy.

Thanks for taking action,
