Dear Friend, Yesterday the House voted 270 to 152 to approve the Keystone XL pipeline as expected.1 The vote clears the way for President Obama to veto the bill when it crosses his desk as promised. This will set up a showdown with the Senate, which is only four votes shy of overriding his veto: That's too close 4 comfort. I know many in the media are reporting that the president's veto is safe. But we can't afford to be complacent. Senator Hoeven (R-ND), who sponsored the Keystone bill, said just last night, "We may very well want to test to see if there is support to override."2 When it comes to Keystone it's not about party loyalty, loyalty to the president or loyalty to Big Oil. It's all about loyalty to our climate, our land, our water and our future generations. This is the message that I am asking you to send to your Senators right now. Over 50,000 of us have already taken action, but we still have work to do if we are going to vanquish Keystone once and for all. Please tell your friends and family (and then tell them again) to join you in calling on the Senate to sustain this veto and STOP Keystone XL. Victory is so vividly in our view. Let's finish what we started together and be vindicated by our (environmental) action. Thank You, Anthony for the Environmental Action Crew 2. Dixon, Darius.
