Senator Michael Bennet claims to be concerned about climate change. So why did he vote to approve the Keystone XL bill and to override President Obama's veto of the same? Click here to let Senator Bennet know what you think of his calamitous contradiction.

Friend,

Meet Colorado Senator Michael Bennet, one of the Nimrod 9 Democrats who voted for the Keystone XL bill. While he hails from the Mile High City, he recently made some milestone mistakes.

Last month, Bennet not only voted for the Keystone XL bill, he also voted to stand with polluters and their politician friends in a failed attempt to override President Obama's veto of the bill. Then, to add insult to injury, he sent a petition calling on environmentalists to stand up to the Koch Brothers and their Big Oil pals.1 Even someone suffering from altitude sickness knows that voting for Keystone XL is not an effective way to stand up to the Koch Brothers.

Click here to tell Michael Bennet, "Climate leaders don't back Big Oil pipelines." Demand an explanation for why he voted "yea" on the Keystone XL bill and to override the President's veto.

Last year the senator commissioned a report from the Government Accountability Office on the harmful effects of climate change. When asked why the report was requested he replied, "Colorado can't wait any longer for Washington to address climate change. Unchecked carbon pollution represents a material threat to our state's economy--from our world class ski areas to our $40 billion agricultural industry. Washington's failure to act now will leave our kids and grandkids with even tougher decisions-on both climate and our debt and deficit."2

Those are bold words, but based on his recent Keystone votes they are nothing more than rocky (mountain) rhetoric and thin air. That's why I am asking you to send Michael Bennet the message that true climate champions don't vote for pipelines that would transport the dirtiest oil on the planet. Senator Bennet's sudden betrayal of the environment does not even make financial sense. In 2014, the environmental lobby actually contributed more to him than the oil and gas sector.3 I'd say that based on his Keystone votes a refund is certainly warranted. We need to hold the senator accountable for his recent votes and let him know that we won't forget in two years when he's up for re-election.

If the climate has friends like Michael Bennet, it certainly does not need enemies like the Koch Brothers. Please click here to share your thoughts on his recent votes and we'll make sure that his social media accounts are flooded with your questions and demands for an explanation.

Thanks for letting a nimrod know that his actions will have HIGH consequences,

Anthony and Environmental Action Nimrod Busters
