Friend,
I just wanted to make sure you saw my message from last Friday. I know your inbox is probably flooded with requests for donations at this time of year -- mine is too. But here's the simple fact: I've been looking over our finances, and with just about 72 hours left in the year, we're still behind our goal for fundraising. I know not everyone can give - but there are some really big challenges ahead, and as things stand we simply don't have the resources to meet all of them.

So I'm asking you one more time before the end of the year, can you support our work with a donation of $5, $15 or $25 before Wednesday at midnight?

Thanks again for all you do,

Drew and the team at Environmental Action

Friend,

I was just reviewing our records and I noticed you have never made an online donation to support our work. Your signatures, phone calls, and action have been essential to our success this year. But without financial support, we can't win the big fights ahead of us.

Can you support our work with a donation of $5, $15 or $25 before the end of 2014?

Here are just a few of the challenges and opportunities ahead:

  • Last month, we had a big win when we sustained a Senate filibuster and killed the Keystone XL bill. But starting next week climate deniers and Oil-igarchs take control of both chambers of Congress. When they do, we won't have the votes to sustain another filibuster. So we'll need President Obama to act fast and decisively to say NO to the Keystone XL oil pipeline. He's been talking the right talk during the last few weeks, but now we need him to act.
  • Like a lot of you (and Mark Ruffalo), I was elated when New York moved to ban fracking after careful analysis of the health impacts. But this dangerous and unnecessary drilling practice is continuing in states from California to Pennsylvania. And the expansion of fracked gas infrastructure like pipelines, compressor stations, storage facilities and export terminals suggest the frackers don't plan on stopping anytime soon. We need your support to plan bigger actions and conduct more research so we can convince other states to follow New York's lead and ban fracking in 2015.
  • Biodiversity is essential to our planet's survival, and I believe that all our animal neighbors have a right to this planet, just like we do. But bears, wolves, birds, and other species are threatened by over-hunting, drilling, and development. In just the last few weeks we've won a major court decision to protect wolves, and new Endangered Species Act protections for a tiny shorebird. But there's so much more to do, and we need your help to keep fighting for all earth's creatures.
  • Oregon came SO CLOSE to labeling GMO foods, just a few hundred votes shy of this historic marker. But our fight for the right to know what's in our food isn't over. We've got to defend landmark laws like the one in Vermont, and expand consumer education efforts. Most of all, we've got to take the fight to big food companies like Monsanto, Pepsi and more -- if they've got nothing to hide, why should they oppose labeling GMO foods?

You can check out all those victories, preview upcoming fights, and so much more at our 2014 wrap up page. You know the stakes are high. Our planet urgently needs action to stop pollution, reverse global warming, and make the only home we'll ever have safe for all species -- including ours.

With no funding from corporations or foundations, I'm counting on you to keep us in the fight. Can you chip in $5, $15 or $25 before the end of 2014?

Thanks,

Drew Hudson, Director, and the team at Environmental Action
